How to Make Bread Step By Step With Pictures

This is how to make bread using a simple step by step recipe and pictures for easy comprehension.

I have tried my hands of different bread recipe and this is by far, the easiest. These ingredients are most likely already in your pantry.

This is a simple 6-ingredient white loaf of bread that you can make for dinner or breakfast. If you have a baking pan, oven, and these six ingredients, you are good to go.

What Ingredients Are Used To Make Bread?

Since there are a whole lot of bread recipes on this space, there are a myriad of recipes existing in different places. 

This is, however, a 6-ingredient homemade white bread for lunch or dinner. All you need are the ingredients listed below, 

INGREDIENTS
3 cups of all-purpose flour
1 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp butter (salted or unsalted)
pinch of salt
3 tsp sugar
2 tbsp veg. oil

Recipe time: 140 minutes
Serving: 4 Persons

Even though vegetable oil is merely used for greasing the pan, I had to include it in the list above.

How to Make Bread

Step 1
In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, butter and mix properly.

You need 350ml of lukewarm water, you should be able to keep your finger in the water without feeling hurt. But not too cold to the point you could drink the water at a go.

Add half a teaspoon of sugar to the warm water, then sprinkle your yeast on it and stir.
In 1-3 minutes it would start foaming if your yeast is still alive and good.

Step 3

Add the yeast to the bowl containing your flour, sugar salt, and butter.

Kneading Your Bread

Using a wooden turner, stir to combine properly then turn out on the counter. Sprinkle some flour on the counter first.

Step 4
Go ahead and knead for the next 10-12 minutes, if it is sticking to your fingers, adding some more flour on your finger and the flour would help.

You want a soft pliable dough, not too hard and not too soft.

When you are done kneading, grease a bowl using vegetable oil, make a round-shaped dough, and drop it into the bowl to proof.

Keep your bread dough in it for 45-50 minutes, it should double in size.

Step 5

Turn out on the counter, punch to let out air, spread on the counter and tuck in the sides to make a rectangular dough.

Transfer to a greased baking pan (greased with vegetable oil).

Transfer to a warm place, as the other time until it doubles in size, again.

Step 6
Bake your bread for 35-40 minutes on medium heat. If the oven is too hot it will start burning before the inside is baked.

Avoid the temptation of opening the oven and checking for the first 20 minutes.

Your bread will rise a little more as it bakes. If you oven has top and bottom heater, use the bottom heater.

Step 7
Turn out the bread from the pan, it should be easy if you greased your pan with oil. The surface would be hard, let it cool in a well ventilated place. For extra sheen, you can apply some butter on the surface once it is out of the oven.

You can slice after 5 hours.

  1. Thanks, I have tried twice and didn’t get it right, the bread didn’t rice after baking, I won’t give up though
